Tourism Ireland’s Meetings and Events Industry Shines at Exclusive Roadshow in Lyon and Paris, Showcasing Itself as a Premier Destination for French Business Events Buyers
Saturday, November 16, 2024
Ireland is showcasing itself as a premier destination for Business Events to around 60 MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and events) buyers in France this week through a dedicated B2B roadshow in Lyon and Paris. Eight tourism organizations from Ireland are actively participating in this initiative.

The roadshow features dynamic presentations, one-on-one business meetings, and networking sessions, offering Irish tourism companies a prime platform to engage with key French buyers. The aim is to inspire these buyers to consider Ireland for their upcoming meetings and incentive programs, boosting the flow of Business Events from France to Ireland.

The corporate meetings, events, and incentive travel sector, known as Business Events, is a significant contributor to economic growth. Characterized by its high value and alignment with midweek and off-season travel, this segment perfectly complements Tourism Ireland’s strategic focus on increasing international tourism revenue beyond the peak summer months.

David Boyce, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Business Events and Luxury, said: “We are delighted that so many key French MICE buyers are taking the time to come and meet with our partners from Ireland in Lyon and Paris. Our aim is to inspire those travel professionals about all that Ireland has to offer their clients.

“Tourism Ireland’s goal is to enable thousands of commercial Business Events meetings – connecting our tourism partners from Ireland with overseas buyers to grow Business Events and support tourism enterprises right across the island. To date in 2024, we have invested around €2.5 million in the area of Business Events and have facilitated over 7,000 commercial meetings. Our French roadshow this week is another valuable platform for our partners from Ireland to showcase and sell their products and services, to ensure they win a greater share of the buyers’ business in 2025 and beyond.”

“Meet in Ireland” is the official brand representing the island of Ireland for MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and events) initiatives. It represents a collaborative effort between Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland, and Tourism Northern Ireland, uniting their expertise to position Ireland as a top-tier destination for business events.
