AirAsia Philippines Ready for Holiday Rush with Over 300,000 Passengers Expected During Christmas and New Year
Thursday, December 19, 2024
AirAsia Philippines is ready to cater to an influx of over 300,000 passengers during the festive season, covering the busy travel period from December 16, 2024, to January 6, 2025.
With the holiday spirit in full swing, the airline has already recorded a load factor surpassing 80%. This number is expected to rise sharply as Filipinos finalize their plans to celebrate with loved ones, taking advantage of last-minute holiday bookings.
In line with its reputation as a traveler-first airline, AirAsia has relaunched its “Always READY sa Pasko’t Bagong Taon” initiative. This program includes proactive measures to ensure a smooth experience for all passengers, even during peak times.
To handle the surge in travelers, AirAsia has strategically bolstered its workforce. Additional staff are on standby to support ground operations at check-in counters, while dedicated customer service desks at key airports offer timely assistance. Guests can also rely on the airline’s Ask Bo feature, available through the AirAsia MOVE app, to address inquiries and simplify travel planning.
By combining advanced preparation with guest-focused services, AirAsia Philippines aims to make holiday journeys seamless and enjoyable for every traveler, reinforcing its dedication to exceptional service during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
“We expect a significant surge in guest volume this week as many of our kababayans are making last-minute bookings on their holiday plans. While we recognize the excitement that comes with finalizing travel arrangements, we encourage our guests to book flights early as ticket fares increase closer to the travel date. This time is also a good opportunity to secure your return flights in advance for after the holidays as flights will fill up quickly after Christmas,” AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head, First Officer Steve Dailisan shares.
Smart Travel Tips for a Smooth Holiday Journey
Plan Ahead and Arrive EarlyTo avoid last-minute stress, passengers are advised to arrive at the airport well in advance—at least three hours before domestic departures and four hours before international flights. Heavy traffic around the airport is common during the holiday season, so early arrival ensures you have enough time to complete all pre-flight procedures.
Know Your TerminalDomestic travelers will depart from Terminal 2, while international flights will take off from Terminal 3. Confirming your terminal assignment ahead of time can save valuable time and reduce confusion.
