Traveloka sponsored the GSTC Sustainable Tourism Training, which took place at the Potique Hotel in Nha Trang, Vietnam, on December 12-13, 2024. Led by GSTC Trainer Trang Nguyen, the training spanned two days filled with practical examples and valuable insights.
The event featured presentations from notable guest speakers including Ms. Ha Thi Dieu Vien, Deputy General Manager of Silk Sense Hoi An River Resort — a prestigious 5-star establishment in Quang Nam province and Vietnam’s pioneering zero-plastic resort; Mr. Bobby Nguyen, CEO of Mekong Rustic, known for its community-based homestays and bungalows in the Mekong Delta; and a representative from Chay Lap Farmstay, a part of Oxalis Adventure offering a 3-star village farmstay experience in Quang Binh province.
The course engaged 20 attendees in learning critical skills and knowledge necessary to promote sustainable tourism practices effectively. It focused on the GSTC Criteria, which set the global standards for sustainability within the tourism and travel sectors. The integration of both global and local case studies significantly enriched the training’s educational value.
Participants who successfully completed the course were awarded a certificate and given the option to take a further official exam to earn the GSTC Professional Certificate in Sustainable Tourism.
