Explore the vibrant art and light displays at Singapore’s Light to Night Festival 2025, a cultural spectacle that illuminates the city.

In 2025, the Light to Night Festival in Singapore will launch its ninth edition, running from January 17 to February 6. This year’s festival, held in the Civic District, adopts the thought-provoking theme “Do You See Me?” encouraging participants to explore visibility and recognition in various forms.

The National Gallery Singapore curates this visual arts spectacle, featuring a broad array of more than 70 artistic endeavors, including interactive installations, multidisciplinary activities, stunning light shows, and live artistic performances. This year, the festival emphasizes collaboration with a range of talented local artists, showcasing their visionary works and engaging the public in meaningful dialogue.

Among the standout exhibits is “Travelling Through the Tropical Rainforest” by Han Sai Por, a celebrated sculptor and Cultural Medallion laureate. His exhibition at the Padang includes six massive inflatable sculptures that echo the shapes of tropical flora, cleverly juxtaposing natural forms with urban architectural elements. This installation offers a reflection on the dynamic interplay between natural and constructed environments within Singapore’s cityscape.

The festival also honors the enduring legacies of several prominent Singaporean artists, including Chng Seok Tin, Goh Beng Kwan, and Jaafar Latiff, with a special projection mapping event on the National Gallery’s exterior. This feature, produced in collaboration with ARAFURA, a renowned Indonesian multimedia studio, marks a first in celebrating the historical impacts of these late artists through innovative visual displays.
