Da Nang Prepares for New Tet 2025 Tourism Surge, Drawing International Visitors to Vietnam’s Coastal Gem

The 2025 Tet Festival is shaping up to be a milestone event for Da Nang’s tourism industry, with a projected 20% increase in visitor numbers compared to the same holiday period in 2024. The city anticipates an influx of domestic and international travelers, with international tourism expected to dominate. Da Nang’s unique cultural experiences, festival activities, and investment in diverse tourist offerings are positioning it as one of Vietnam’s top destinations for the Lunar New Year and beyond.
According to Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, Da Nang continues to solidify its appeal to travelers seeking highly personalized and authentic experiences. International markets, including Europe, Australia, the United States, South Korea, and Taiwan, are showing stable or increasing demand. Meanwhile, the domestic travel sector, particularly small groups and family travelers, is also contributing to the city’s tourism growth.
International Visitors Drive Tourism Growth
A notable highlight for Tet 2025 is the strong performance of international markets. The number of flights to Da Nang is set to rise significantly during the Tet holiday from January 22 to February 4, 2025, with 2,254 flights expected to arrive. This marks a 28.5% increase over the same period in 2024. Among these, 946 are international flights, underscoring the growing interest of global travelers in Da Nang.
Key contributing factors include the city’s robust efforts to create appealing experiences for international tourists. Many visitors are drawn to the festive atmosphere of Tet, with its vibrant traditions, cultural celebrations, and opportunities to explore Vietnam’s rich heritage.
Enhanced Experiences for Tet Travelers
To attract more visitors, Da Nang has partnered with local businesses to introduce fresh, engaging tourism products. These include festival-themed attractions such as:
Flower Routes: Tet-themed floral displays along the Han River, from My Khe Beach to My An Beach, showcasing a blend of natural coastal beauty and festive decorations.
Spring Flower Gardens: Beautifully designed gardens at Marble Mountains and key intersections, offering photo opportunities and a tranquil setting for visitors.
