Gulf Air Elevates Its Environmental Commitment by Participating in Bahrain’s Leading Sustainability Forum Focused on Climate and Energy Resilience

Gulf Air reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability by actively participating in the third edition of the Sustainability Forum Middle East, which took place from January 28 to 29 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bahrain. The prestigious event, inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, attracted over 400 influential figures, including global policymakers, business executives, and sustainability advocates. The central theme, “Mobilizing Action and Investment for Climate and Energy Resilience,” underscored the urgency of driving sustainable strategies across industries.
As a key sponsor, Gulf Air played a pivotal role in shaping the discourse on climate action. The opening day featured insightful discussions led by more than 50 distinguished experts from the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Brazil. Panelists explored a range of pressing issues, including decarbonization, renewable energy investments, and policies necessary to accelerate net-zero transitions in the region.
A major highlight was the participation of Jeffrey Goh, Chief Executive Officer of Gulf Air Group, who contributed to a thought-provoking panel discussion titled “The Strategic Intersection of Climate Action and Long-Term Value Creation.” Goh outlined Gulf Air’s proactive measures to reduce its carbon footprint, detailing the airline’s investment in fuel-efficient fleets, operational optimization, and sustainability-driven initiatives. He also reaffirmed Gulf Air’s alignment with Bahrain’s national environmental goals, emphasizing the airline’s role in fostering a greener aviation industry.
