ICONSIAM, an iconic destination along the Chao Phraya River, is gearing up to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between Thailand and the People’s Republic of China with an extraordinary Chinese New Year 2025 event. Developed collaboratively by Siam Piwat Group, Magnolia Quality Development Corporation, and Charoen Pokphand Group, this grand celebration involves an impressive investment exceeding 150 million Baht (approximately USD 4.35 million).
Starting January 15, 2025, ICONSIAM will unveil the spectacular “Lancang to ChaoPhraya” sculpture exhibition, marking the beginning of a year filled with monumental events. The highlight of the festivities is a breathtaking Chinese New Year celebration, showcasing the enshrinement of 60 Tai Sui deities—guardians representing all zodiac birth years—inviting attendees to receive blessings for the Year of the Snake. This marks the first time such a ceremony will take place at ICONSIAM.
The celebrations will also feature the mesmerizing “Dragon of Two Lands” performance, symbolizing harmony between the Naga and the Dragon, alongside a cultural dance presented by performers from Changsha, China. Adding to the vibrant atmosphere, a “Little China” street market will come alive with over 35 renowned vendors from across Thailand, offering an array of food, travel experiences, and shopping opportunities. This lively market will run for 10 days, from January 24 to February 2, 2025.
With an expected turnout of over 2 million visitors from around the globe, this landmark event promises to usher in the Lunar New Year with a blend of tradition, art, and cultural unity.
