The city is set to host the second Global Spiritual Tourism Conclave on August 27, which is poised to reshape the spiritual tourism industry by integrating age-old traditions with modern technology for the benefit of tourists and pilgrims.The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) in association with the Ministry of Tourism and the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has organized the conclave. It is expected to bring together various stakeholders, including government representatives, tourism practitioners, and spiritual representatives. The conclave will focus on the theme ‘Ruhmantic’ and aims to foster responsible tourism and improve infrastructure while focusing on digital innovation to enhance the overall experience for pilgrims.Advertisement One of the major highlights will be the launch of a landmark report titled ‘Faith and Flow: Navigating Crowds in India’s Sacred Spaces’. The report offers solutions to the challenges of managing the flow of visitors to the most-visited pilgrimage sites in India, advocating for the use of sustainable development, digital crowd management solutions, and other strategies to maintain the sacredness of spiritual places while improving access for devotees.The conclusion will include a government-industry roundtable discussion on the critical issues of spiritual tourism such as infrastructure development and responsible hospitality. Other experts will look into ways technology can enhance safety features and visitor management systems, as well as how to develop immersive experiences while maintaining the spiritual essence of holy places.Thematic sessions will equally highlight other dimensions of spiritual tourism. The sessions include “Temple Economies: Where Faith Meets Livelihood” which seeks to highlight the temple circuit’s economic impact and how it fosters community development and employment. “Mahakal’s Mandala: Ujjain’s Spiritual Power and Urban Future” will illuminate the religious heritage-urban development dilemma showcasing ways to preserve the ancient identity of the city while modernizing it.The sessions will also include a focus on wellness tourism. “Mind, Body and Soul: Wellness as the New Spiritual Frontier” will look at the integration of yoga, Ayurveda, meditation and holistic wellness into spiritual tourism reflecting the increasing tendency to blend pilgrimage with self-care. “Divine in the Digital – Spirituality 2.0” will showcase the impacts of AI, VR, and other digital technologies on the world of spirituality, looking at how sacred activities are being rendered more interactive, easy to access, and connected on a global scale.The session titled ‘Guardians of the Sacred Axis – The Jyotirlinga Circuit’ will explore the cultural and religious importance of India’s twelve Jyotirlingas and will also focus on the spiritual tourism that intertwines tradition with technology, economy, and wellness.Thr …
