Check out the companies making headlines before the bell : Alibaba — Chinese e-ecommerce giant saw shares rising more than 3% after The Wall Street Journal reported that the firm has created a more advanced chip as it looks to fill the gap left by Nvidia running into issues around selling its chips in China. Nvidia shares extended their recent losses, falling about 1% in the premarket. Caterpillar — The industrial giant’s shares lost nearly 3% in premarket trading after the company warned it could take a $1.5 billion-$1.8 billion hit this year due to tariffs. Dell Technologies — The tech stock slipped 5% after the company gave third-quarter earnings per share guidance that below Wall Street’s expectations. Dell still beat on its top and bottom lines for the latest quarter, however. Ulta Beauty — The cosmetics and beauty products retailer surged about 4% after raising its full-year earnings and revenue forecast. Ulta expects full-year revenue of $12 billion to $12.1 billion, above the $11.7 billion estimate from analysts polled by LSEG. Ulta expects full-year earnings of $23.85 to $24.30 per share, while analysts were expecting $23.65. Affirm Holdings — The buy-now-pay-later fintech provider rallied 15% after fiscal fourth-quarter earnings and revenue beat analyst estimates.
