He had a collection of bogeys and birdies and settled on a 69 in the inaugural tournament.“Dog was out of the bag, probably asleep in the locker,” McIlroy said. His bag featured a 3-wood and 5-wood, the latter in case he needed more height for longer shots into par 5s.That didn’t help him on his 17th hole, the par-5 eighth, when he pulled his tee shot into the trees, advanced it only about 15 yards into the rough made a bogey.Lowry returned from his Ryder Cup heroics at the Spanish Open last week by missing the cut.
