The festival, supported by the Allan Labor Government, will be an important part of the community’s future plans as it transitions away from traditional industries and embraces new opportunities.Minister for Agriculture Ros Spence has announced a significant funding commitment to help launch the event. $173,000 has been allocated from the Forestry Transition Program’s Community Development Fund. The Future of Noojee Local Development Strategy (LDS), which is community-led, aims to reflect the aspirations and priorities of the region as it develops new industries. The truffle festival project was designed alongside the Innovation Working Group and the Noojee Truffle Growers Group, who have provided significant support to the project.The Noojee Truffle Growers Group has contributed $75,000 in in-kind support. This support will include providing locally grown produce for cooking demonstrations, as well as knowledge sharing and skills development for local restaurants and hospitality venues. This collaboration is expected to strengthen the local economy and build new connections between Noojee’s agricultural producers and the hospitality sector.The funding from the Community Development Fund has already had a significant impact on the region, with $410,000 dedicated to supporting the Future of Noojee initiative.
