The exhibitions, “Singapore Odyssea: A Journey Through Time” and “Once Upon a Tide: Singapore’s Journey from Settlement to Global City”, provide visitors with an unparalleled opportunity to explore the historical milestones that shaped Singapore into the global powerhouse it is today.Both exhibitions combine cutting-edge multimedia technology with experiential storytelling to showcase Singapore’s rich cultural heritage, offering an engaging and educational journey for both locals and international visitors.“Singapore Odyssea: A Journey Through Time”: An Immersive Multimedia ExperienceThe journey begins at the Shaw Foundation Glass Rotunda, where visitors are welcomed into the permanent “Singapore Odyssea: A Journey Through Time” exhibition. This immersive experience invites visitors to witness pivotal moments in Singapore’s history, from its early maritime connections to its rise as a global city.Using an RFID-enabled wristband, visitors can adopt one of nine Magical Companions inspired by Singapore’s native fauna, which guide them through the exhibition and unlock hidden content layers about the country’s history. The exhibition begins with a two-minute light show that maps the evolution of maritime routes that connected Singapore to the world, setting the stage for a deep dive into the nation’s history.As visitors move through the gallery, they “time-travel” through animated wall projections, rich soundscapes, and visual storytelling that bring to life significant chapters of Singapore’s past.
