This prestigious event is being hosted at the expansive Pelling Ground, situated within the Gyalshing district. The primary objective behind this grand gathering is the promotion of winter tourism while simultaneously providing a platform for the display of the rich cultural heritage, traditional values, and the indomitable community spirit that defines the state of Sikkim. Through this initiative, the region is showcased as a premier destination for travelers seeking both natural beauty and authentic cultural immersion during the colder months.The organizational efforts for the Khangchendzonga Winter Tourism Festival are being spearheaded by the Pelling Tourism Development Association, commonly referred to as the PTDA. This body is working in close coordination with the Gyalshing district administration and several other local organizations to ensure the success of the multi-day event. Appreciation was expressed by him for the collective endeavors that have been directed toward the promotion of local culture and entrepreneurship. It was noted by the Minister that such festivals play a pivotal role in strengthening the tourism framework of the state while empowering local artisans and business owners.Promoting Fitness and Gratitude Through SportA unique and significant component of the festival was introduced during a media briefing by Amar Subba, a figure widely recognized as the Marathon Man of Sikkim. Details were provided regarding the upcoming Gratitude Run, which is scheduled to take place on 28 December. This athletic event is set to cover the route from Pelling to Yambung Chowri.
