The Mikulski Archive for Space Telescopes (MAST) is planning to host additional datasets that will greatly enhance the scientific output of the Roman Space Telescope.

MAST is seeking suggestions from the entire astronomical community regarding possible new datasets for this initiative through a public questionnaire.

Any non-Roman datasets, which are publicly available by September 2027, can be considered. (Datasets not already held at a NASA archive, or not currently cloud-hosted, will be prioritized.)

Submissions should include a description (of approximately 1-3 paragraphs) addressing how the dataset will impact Roman science, which surveys/science cases will be facilitated by its inclusion, and why its current location is insufficient for co-analysis with Roman data and thus hosting it at MAST is critical.

Final selections will be made by MAST and Roman leadership, considering (1) Impact to Roman science, (2) Cost given available resources, and (3) Ensuring balance of which surveys and science cases are facilitated.

Multiple submissions are welcome; please only include a single dataset per submission. Submissions will be accepted through 31 March 2026.

Please direct questions regarding this questionnaire and initiative to the MAST Help Desk at [email protected].
