Explore This SectionA.4 Rapid Response and Novel Research in Earth Science (RRNES) solicits proposals that advance the goals and objectives of NASA’s Earth Science Division by conducting unique research to investigate 1) unforeseen or unpredictable Earth system events and opportunities that require a rapid response, and 2) novel ideas of potential high merit and relevance for ESD science to advance Earth remote sensing that have not otherwise been solicited by NASA in the past three years.

On or about March 30, 2026, a new requirement has been added to Section 1 of A.4 RRNES and the point of contact for the NASA flight request system in Section 5.1.1 has been updated. New text is in bold and deleted text is struck through. This program element does not have a proposal due date. Proposals may be submitted at any time during the open period of ROSES-2025.
