Stephen Chow’s sports comedy “Kung Fu Soccer” continued its strong performance at the mainland China box office during the July 17–19 weekend, generating RMB501.1 million in its second week of release. The film, produced by Shenzhen Film Studio, has accumulated $214.3 million across its first nine days in theaters. The comedy follows an amateur women’s soccer team that employs martial arts techniques to compete in a major championship tournament.
Pearl Studio’s computer-animated feature “All Wishes Come True!” entered the market in second position, capturing $30.6 million over the three-day weekend. Directed by Mu Zhengyang, the film launched on July 18 and has reached $39.6 million in total grosses. The family-oriented fantasy centers on eight ordinary individuals who must outwit powerful deities to earn recognition as the Eight Immortals.
Enlight Pictures’ adaptation “A Part of Me,” based on a 2015 U.K. film, opened in third place with $13.6 million during its debut frame. Directed by Ma Yingxin and featuring Zhang Ruonan and Jolin Jin, the drama spans two decades and examines the evolution of a long-term friendship. Universal’s “Minions & Monsters” dropped to fourth place in its third week, earning $3.7 million and bringing its cumulative total to $40.3 million since its July 3 release.
The mainland China box office generated $132.9 million for the three-day period. Year-to-date revenue through 2026 reached $2.97 billion, representing a 35.3% decline compared to the equivalent span in 2025. Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” is scheduled to arrive in China on Aug. 15.
