Chloe Fineman disclosed details about her exit from “Saturday Night Live” at the premiere of Apple TV’s “The Dink” on Monday evening. According to Fineman, she had called Michaels to inform him of her decision to leave the program, but he was occupied watching a soccer match between England and Argentina and asked to continue the conversation later. Fineman described exchanging light banter with Michaels about the sporting event before the two had what she characterized as a positive discussion about her departure.
Fineman announced on July 16 that she would be exiting the sketch comedy series following seven seasons with the program. In a social media statement, she wrote that she felt it was an appropriate time to move on to her next professional endeavor, acknowledging her deep emotional connection to the cast and production, describing them as family and the workplace as her home.
During her tenure since 2019, Fineman became recognized for her range of impressions, including portrayals of celebrities such as Jennifer Coolidge, Timothée Chalamet, Drew Barrymore, Britney Spears, and JoJo Siwa. She noted that her Melania Trump impression was one area where she felt there remained untapped potential, leaving open the possibility of future guest appearances.
Fineman’s next professional assignment will be a series regular role in Netflix’s upcoming “Myron Bolitar” series, based on Harlan Coben’s book collection. The cast will include Colin Woodell, KJ Apa, and Diane Guerrero as leads, with additional cast members including Jabari Banks, Jamie McShane, and Ben McKenzie. The production is currently in development at the streaming platform.
