A three-team trade involving the Oklahoma City Thunder, Atlanta Hawks, and Dallas Mavericks reshuffled rosters across the league. The Thunder dealt starting forward and defensive standout Lu Dort to Atlanta, while the Hawks sent former first overall draft selection Zaccharie Risacher to Dallas.
As part of the arrangement, the Mavericks transmitted Ryan Nembhard to Atlanta. The Thunder received three heavily protected second-round draft picks in exchange. The transaction awaited necessary approvals from the NBA at the time of reporting.
The deal served multiple strategic purposes for each franchise. Oklahoma City used the trade to create salary relief needed to position itself below the second apron threshold. Atlanta added another elite defender to its roster with the acquisition of Dort. Meanwhile, Dallas bolstered its roster by bringing in Risacher, giving the Mavericks three first overall draft picks—the most currently held by any single NBA franchise. Risacher joined 2011 top pick Kyrie Irving and 2025 top pick Cooper Flagg on the Mavericks.
Dort recorded averages of 11.6 points per game across his first seven seasons, all spent with the Thunder. Risacher, who finished as a runner-up for rookie of the year in 2024-25, averaged 11.1 points over two seasons with Atlanta. Nembhard averaged 6.6 points as a rookie during the most recent season with Dallas.
