The Late Ozzy Osbourne Is Getting a Haunted House at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights

NBCUniversal announced plans to create Ozzy Osbourne-themed haunted attractions at its Halloween Horror Nights events, with identical titles but distinct experiences at locations in California and Florida.

At Universal Hollywood, visitors will navigate the Ozzy Osbourne Asylum while progressing through different decades of the musician’s career. The Orlando installation will feature ruins and a dungeon before culminating in a train ride experience. Both haunted houses will incorporate a soundtrack drawing from Osbourne’s discography, beginning with “Crazy Train” and spanning his full catalog of recordings.

The attractions were developed in partnership with Osbourne’s family and are being positioned as both an immersive horror experience and a non-traditional memorial to the late musician. According to statements from his widow Sharon Osbourne and son Jack Osbourne, the haunted houses reflect Osbourne’s lifelong commitment to innovation and his desire to offer audiences new ways to engage with his artistic output. John Murdy, executive producer at the Hollywood location, noted that the experience draws inspiration from all 13 of Osbourne’s solo albums and aims to honor his influence on heavy metal and popular culture.

Mike Aiello, senior director of entertainment creative development at Universal Orlando, emphasized the importance of authenticity in translating Osbourne’s creative vision into the haunted house format. He indicated that the attraction includes hidden details and Easter Eggs designed to reward fans with deeper knowledge of Osbourne’s career.

Osbourne, a founding member of Black Sabbath, died approximately a year before this announcement. His final performance occurred with Black Sabbath in his hometown of Birmingham, England, occurring 17 days before his death.
