In the women’s race, Beaugrand crossed the finish line in 56 minutes 6 seconds, edging Germany’s Lisa Tertsch by five seconds. Sweden’s Tilda Mansson completed the podium, finishing 15 seconds behind the winner. British racers Beth Potter and Georgia Taylor-Brown placed fourth and sixth respectively. Beaugrand, who started poorly in the swim finishing 27th out of the water, regrouped during the bike portion and moved to the front during the run to hold off Tertsch’s late challenge.
London hosted the WTCS for the first time since 2015. Following the London event, two additional races remain before the grand final. In the current standings, Vilaca leads the men’s rankings with Hauser in third place, while Potter maintains the top position in the women’s rankings with Beaugrand in sixth.
