According to VMware’s filings, Allstate subsequently notified the company in September 2025 that it had removed VMware from all devices and later confirmed in October 2025 that all VMware instances had been terminated.
Broadcom has also filed a separate lawsuit under CA Technologies, alleging copyright infringement and breach of contract. The case involves Allstate’s sale of its Employer Voluntary Benefits business and associated Symantec products to StanCorp Financial Group, with CA asserting that Allstate failed to provide proper notice of the transaction.
Allstate represents one of several large enterprises that have opted to migrate away from VMware following Broadcom’s acquisition of the company. Other notable organizations making similar transitions include T-Mobile, Tesco, and Western Union. Both pending cases have a deadline of May 17, 2027, for filing dispositive motions.
