‘Emomee,’ Indian Kids Life-Skills Series, Lands on Netflix (EXCLUSIVE)

Emomee, a Mumbai-based children’s entertainment company, has released its inaugural original animated series on Netflix. The show, titled “Emomee: Big Skills for Little Ones, Minis,” consists of 20 episodes running approximately 11 minutes each and follows three main characters navigating everyday situations intended to develop confidence, curiosity, kindness, emotional intelligence and problem-solving abilities among preschool audiences.

The company was founded by Pooja Jauhari, a former chief executive of WPP-owned creative agency The Glitch, alongside Varun Duggirala, co-founder of The Glitch. Suraksha Subramaniam serves as the third co-founder, managing legal and intellectual property matters. According to Jauhari, the Netflix distribution deal marks a significant milestone in Emomee’s trajectory toward becoming a global entertainment enterprise. The company has already achieved substantial reach, accumulating more than one billion views across 100-plus countries and building a subscriber base of 2.5 million within 15 months of launch.

Emomee’s approach distinguishes itself through what the company describes as a “life-skills-first” content philosophy, contrasting with algorithm-driven, high-stimulation formats that have faced criticism from parents and educators worldwide. The company gained additional prominence through an appearance on “Shark Tank India,” where all five investors made offers at the founders’ requested valuation of INR50 crore ($5.2 million).

Beyond the Netflix launch, Emomee is pursuing broader expansion initiatives encompassing consumer products, licensing arrangements and live experiences. The company intends to participate in Mipcom later this year to explore additional distribution and licensing opportunities.
