Gabrielle Carrington, age 29 and from Manchester, appeared at the Old Bailey to deny a murder charge related to the death of Klaudia Zakrzewska. The incident occurred outside Inca nightclub in Argyll Street, Soho, at 04:30 BST on 19 April. Carrington was initially charged with attempted murder, but the charge was upgraded to murder following Zakrzewska’s death from injuries sustained six days after the incident.
According to the prosecution account presented in court, Carrington arrived at the location in her vehicle and became involved in an altercation with a male as she exited the car. The confrontation escalated as additional individuals became involved, leading security to intervene. Carrington subsequently returned to the vehicle and drove away, allegedly mounting the pavement sharply and striking Zakrzewska. The vehicle also struck security guard Anoush Chyche, who was standing on the pavement. As the vehicle reversed, Zakrzewska was observed lying under it. Chyche, described as being in his 50s, sustained injuries characterized as life-changing.
Carrington, who maintains a significant social media presence with over 365,000 Instagram followers under the handle RIELLEUK, was a member of Miss Dynamix during the group’s participation in X Factor live finals in 2013. She is identified in court documents as a social media influencer who frequently travels to the United Arab Emirates. Zakrzewska, who was in her 30s, was also an influencer active on TikTok and Instagram under the name Klaudiaglam.
Judge Sarah Whitehouse KC confirmed that the trial will proceed at the Old Bailey beginning 5 January.
