No Other Land, which was directed by Basel Adra and Hamdan Ballal alongside Abraham and Szor, achieved significant recognition at the Academy Awards. Following the film’s Oscar win, Ballal was attacked by Israeli settlers and briefly detained. The Academy subsequently apologized for failing to name Ballal and the film in its official statement of support at the time.
