Fabien Frankel has joined the cast of “Love Unlimited,” a debut short drama written and directed by actor Olivier Huband. The project explores the relationship between two lifelong friends spending what becomes their final four days together at a residence in the South of France, examining themes of male intimacy, grief, and enduring affection.
Frankel will take on the role of Max alongside Huband, who plays Gabriel. In addition to acting, Frankel will serve as executive producer through MarcelMonique Pictures, the production company he operates with his brother Max Mark Frankel. This marks the first time Frankel has acted in a project he is simultaneously producing. Max Mark Frankel will serve as lead producer; he previously produced the comedy feature “Our Hero, Balthasar.”
Huband developed the story and will direct the film, working with his sister Zara Huband as producer under their Boneyard Films banner. Konstantin Mazov, known for cinematography work on films including “Coup de Grâce” and “Rokeby Venus,” has joined as director of photography. MarcelMonique Pictures enlisted support from All In Films, a French production company founded by Thomas Laget and Julien Floutard, to assist in the production.
Frankel, who currently appears as Ser Criston Cole in “House of the Dragon,” has also appeared in “Task” and “The Serpent.” He expressed enthusiasm about the project in a statement, describing the script as deeply moving and noting that the themes resonate with both himself and his brother. He noted that while producing his own acting work presents some uncertainty, he has confidence in both Huband’s direction and his brother’s guidance.
Production on “Love Unlimited” is scheduled to commence in September in the Pyrenees region.
