The charity stated that the new equipment and clinic are designed to improve access to breastfeeding support, eliminate financial obstacles for families, and enable mothers to continue breastfeeding longer if they wish to do so. The organization indicated it aims to support up to 160 mothers, with particular focus on families experiencing feeding difficulties, premature births, delayed milk supply, or other related challenges.
The Pathways clinic provides an additional breastfeeding and infant feeding support location in the eastern part of the island, enhancing accessibility for local families. The hospital-grade pumps and pump kits were funded through grants from the Jersey Community Foundation, while the Coop Community Fund contributed to the purchase of the maternity recliner chair.
