The English government has announced an initiative to establish a network of nearly 200 community mental health centres and mental health emergency departments across the country by 2029. The initiative comprises two main components: 100 new community mental health centres to be located in accessible high street locations including banks and libraries, along with 59 additional dedicated mental health A&Es to complement the 23 facilities already in operation.
