According to the series description, the upcoming season will focus on conflict in Alabasta, the homeland of character Princess Vivi. The narrative centers on a rebellion that threatens to destabilize the nation, orchestrated covertly by Sir Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, and his criminal organization Baroque Works. The Straw Hat crew must navigate a developing civil war and confront the powerful warlord to protect Vivi’s kingdom from destruction.
The season is overseen by co-showrunners Joe Tracz and Ian Stokes, who also serve as writers and executive producers. The production was completed in Cape Town, South Africa. The series was created in partnership with Shueisha and is produced by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix, with executive production from series creator Eiichiro Oda alongside Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes, Christoph Schrewe and Steven Maeda.
