Other award recipients included Keri Russell for her performance in “The Diplomat,” Macaulay Culkin for his guest appearance in “Fallout,” and Vince Gilligan for writing in “Pluribus.” In nonfiction and variety programming, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” won for talk or variety series, while “The Muppet Show” took home the stand-up or variety special award. “John Candy: I Like Me” won for documentary TV movie and “Lost Women of Alaska” was recognized for docuseries or nonfiction series.
The Astra Awards are voted on by the Hollywood Creative Alliance and recognize outstanding television achievements from the preceding year. Special achievement awards were also presented to Troy Kotsur, William H. Macy, Cedric the Entertainer, Jason Ritter, Shawn Hatosy and Natalie Alyn Lind.
