Prime Video has released initial promotional imagery from the forthcoming series “Boys of Tommen,” an adaptation of Chloe Walsh’s young adult romance novel centered on students at an Irish boarding school. The images were presented earlier this week during Prime Video’s Obsessed Retreat, a two-day event held in Germany.
The series features Conor Sánchez in the role of Johnny Kavanagh, a rugby player, and Nancy Surridge as Shannon Lynch, described as a shy newcomer. The first images show Sánchez on the playing field in a contemplative pose, while Surridge appears in a bedroom setting gazing out a window. Season 1 will adapt the first two novels from Walsh’s series.
According to the show’s premise, both lead characters are concealing significant personal challenges. Johnny faces a potentially career-threatening injury, while Shannon contends with a troubled and violent home situation. The narrative follows their connection as they support each other across the divide between their different backgrounds.
The cast also includes James O’Donoghue, Sophie McGibbon, Amelia May, John Hewson, Indy Lewis, Alex Dunne, Dixie Egerickx, Jamie Schneider, Daisy Jacob, Jonathan Heed, Cathal Ó Síocháin, James Craven, and Lewis Brophy in supporting roles. Brendan Canty directs the first season, with Poppy Cogan handling the adaptation. Production is being handled by Wiip in collaboration with Amazon MGM Studios.
