Tubi has announced plans to release a five-episode documentary series examining the Buffalo Bills fan base and their sustained efforts to witness the team win a Super Bowl title. The series, titled Just One Before I Die, will premiere on the free streaming platform on Oct. 21.
The documentary centers on the group of supporters known as “Bills Mafia,” chronicling their experiences across the team’s history marked by significant disappointments and periods of hope. The production documents the fan community’s distinctive traditions, including tailgating events and well-known stadium customs, while exploring themes of loyalty, heartbreak and resilience. The documentary features interviews with former Bills players including Jim Kelly, Andre Reed, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Dion Dawkins, along with media personalities and cultural figures such as Adam Schefter, Nick Wright and Buffalo native Chad Michael Murray.
The series was directed by Addison Henderson and Kevin Polowy and was created alongside Clayton Polowy through AKC Film Productions. Executive producers include representatives from Fulwell Entertainment’s Uninterrupted division, which counts LeBron James and Maverick Carter among its founders, as well as Five All in the Fifth Entertainment and various other contributors. The production required nearly three years of embedded filming with the fan community.
The Bills have faced significant challenges throughout their history, including four consecutive Super Bowl losses in the 1990s and a 17-season playoff drought. The franchise has gained increased media attention following the 2018 draft of quarterback Josh Allen, including a featured appearance on HBO’s Hard Knocks in recent years.
