Medical professionals on the Isle of Man have voted in favor of pursuing strike action as part of an ongoing compensation dispute with healthcare authorities. BMA deputy chair of council Dr Emma Runswick framed the vote as physicians asserting their right to equitable compensation and appropriate recognition of their professional standing and expertise.
The strike authorization comes alongside significant leadership transitions at Manx Care. Chief executive Teresa Cope, who has led the organization since its establishment in 2021, is departing, with chair Wendy Reid also scheduled to step down during the summer months.
