During that pilot, 2,493 patients received checks, with 19% identified as facing high cardiovascular risk within the following decade. At least 88 participants subsequently began statin therapy. The initial rollout will encompass approximately 100 NHS pharmacies across England starting later this autumn.
Health officials characterized the initiative as part of a broader strategy to relocate healthcare delivery closer to communities and reduce pressure on traditional general practice settings.
