An extensive archive of Oasis material comprising more than 100 hours of recordings is scheduled to be sold at auction by Littleton Auctions in Evesham, Worcestershire, on 3 October. However, he stated the auction house is proceeding through appropriate legal channels with verified provenance documentation. Homer characterized the archive as significant material documenting an important period in British music history that could appeal to collectors, scholars, and institutions.
Owain Richards indicated that previous discussions with Oasis management had concluded without resolution, with the band requesting the tapes be returned rather than sold. Notably, while Oasis retain intellectual property rights to the recordings, preventing commercial exploitation without the band’s cooperation, the physical archive itself remains available for sale. The auction coincides with renewed public interest in Oasis following the band’s reunion last year, when the Gallagher brothers performed together for the first time in 15 years.
