The Kane Chronicles books, which began with The Red Pyramid in 2010 and continued with The Throne of Fire and The Serpent’s Shadow, have previously attracted streaming interest. Netflix had been developing feature films based on the trilogy but ultimately abandoned the project in 2024 after the initiative remained in development for several years.
The story centers on siblings Carter and Sadie Kane, who must master their magical heritage and form unexpected partnerships to rescue their father after he unleashes a chaos deity. The book series also includes crossover short stories connecting the Kane siblings with characters from Riordan’s Percy Jackson universe.
