AI Firm Behind India’s ‘Mahabharat’ Series Turns to Indonesian Myth in Cross-Border IP Pact (EXCLUSIVE)

Galleri5, an artificial intelligence technology firm, and Collective Studios’ Historyverse have announced a partnership to create film and television properties derived from Indonesian myths and historical narratives. The collaboration involves Singhasari Special Economic Zone and will employ Indonesian creative professionals and cultural experts working alongside Historyverse’s intellectual property development team using production tools developed by Galleri5.

Galleri5’s primary offering, G5 AI Studio, integrates over 200 artificial intelligence models with specialized tools for character design, storyboarding, animation, visual effects and video production. The platform has been used to generate more than 10,000 advertisements and videos to date. The company previously provided the technical infrastructure for the Star Plus and JioHotstar series “Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh” and is currently developing workflows for additional theatrical productions including “Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal” and “Krishna.”

Historyverse will oversee creative development, production and intellectual property packaging for the Indonesia-based initiative, with plans to prepare projects for potential financing, production and distribution beyond Indonesia’s borders. The first project under discussion carries the working title “Echoes of Nusantara,” described as an original mythology-adventure property.

Official statements emphasized the partnership’s potential to establish Indonesia as a creator and exporter of entertainment content leveraging artificial intelligence technology. Indonesian government representatives highlighted the initiative’s role in developing local talent and creating employment opportunities within the digital content and technology sectors. The partnership was also framed within the context of centuries-old cultural connections between India and Indonesia, particularly regarding shared mythological traditions in temple art, traditional puppet theater and popular culture.
