David Ellison, CEO of Paramount Skydance, and incoming co-CEO Ynon Kreiz unveiled the executive leadership structure for the merged entertainment company on Monday. The announcement came one day before the completion of the approximately $110 billion combination of Paramount Skydance and Warner Bros. Discovery.
The leadership team comprises executives from both organizations and will operate under Ellison and Kreiz’s direction following the deal’s closure. Among the key appointments, Bari Weiss will continue as editor-in-chief of CBS News and Mark Thompson will remain as chairman and editor-in-chief of CNN Worldwide, with both overseeing their respective news divisions within the merged entity.
Casey Bloys, who currently leads HBO and Max content operations at Warner Bros. Discovery, will transition to a co-chair and chief content officer role focused on Skydance’s direct-to-consumer streaming division, which encompasses HBO Max and Paramount+. George Cheeks, formerly a co-CEO at Paramount, will take on a similar co-chair and chief content officer position overseeing Skydance TV, including the global sports operations. JB Perrette, most recently serving as CEO and President of global streaming and games for Warner Bros. Discovery, will co-chair both divisions alongside Bloys and Cheeks.
Additional senior appointments include Andy Gordon, currently Paramount’s Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Operating Officer, who will become president of Skydance. Dennis Cinelli will retain his position as Chief Financial Officer. Ellison highlighted that the selected leaders have developed major franchises and businesses while maintaining commitment to the creative process and storytelling.
The merger agreement was initially announced in February. Following resolution of litigation brought by state attorneys general last month, the companies confirmed the transaction would conclude on Tuesday.
