One Baby, Please!, a comedy series created by and featuring Karim Adam Ahmed and Adrian Neblett, will launch on OUTtv across the U.S. and Canada on Nov. 2, according to an announcement made Monday. The six-episode series centers on Omar, an Egyptian Canadian character, and Dieon, his Barbadian Canadian husband, as they navigate the process of having a child through surrogacy, confronting fertility issues and seeking assistance from friends and egg donors.
The series addresses themes around LGBTQ+ individuals pursuing parenthood and surrogacy arrangements. It represents the latest addition to a growing catalog of queer-themed television productions originating from Canada. Other recent Canadian productions in this space include the hockey-themed drama Heated Rivalry, the comedy Pass The Salt, and Slo Pitch, a mockumentary centered on an LGBTQ+ softball team that received executive production support from Elliot Page.
Beyond its North American distribution through OUTtv, the series will be available across multiple streaming platforms. The show will air on OUTtv’s services in Australia and New Zealand, alongside availability on Prime Video, Apple TV, YouTube TV, and Roku. In the UK and Ireland, the series will stream through OUTflix.
The production team includes executive producer Anthony Q. Farrell, known for work on The Office, and story editor Teresa Pavlinek, who has contributed as a writer and consulting producer on Schitt’s Creek. According to creator Ahmed, the project developed over five years before reaching distribution, driven by the lack of representation he observed in television programming. Series producer Kate Green characterized the show as a comedy exploring the interpersonal dynamics surrounding family formation while examining broader questions of love, identity, culture, and belonging.
