Israel opens first-ever pavilion at Morocco defence show

Israel’s Ministry of Defence announced its inaugural participation in a Moroccan defence exhibition, establishing a national pavilion at the Marrakesh Air Show 2026. The event, held at the Marrakech Royal Moroccan Air Force Base from October 7 to October 10, takes place every two years and attracts civil and military aerospace and space industry participants.

Eight Israeli defence companies showcased advanced military technologies at the exhibition. Israel’s three largest defence contractors—Elbit Systems, IAI, and Rafael—were among the exhibitors, presenting capabilities spanning air, land, sea, space, intelligence, cyber, and digital sectors. According to the Defence Ministry statement, all technologies demonstrated have been combat-tested.

The participation represents the latest development in bilateral relations between Israel and Morocco, which normalized ties in 2020 through the Abraham Accords framework supported by the United States. Last month, the two countries agreed to upgrade their diplomatic relationship, including converting their respective missions to full embassies and appointing ambassadors. The countries also committed to expanding aviation connections by reestablishing direct flights operated by carriers from both nations and confirmed plans for high-level official visits in coming months.

Morocco is among five nations that have pledged military personnel contributions to Gaza under the proposed International Stabilization Force, a component of the Trump administration’s initiatives related to regional peace efforts.
