The returning cast includes Ju Ji-hoon reprising his role as Baek Kang-hyuk, a surgeon protagonist, and Choo Young-woo returning as Yang Jae-won, a character who had been mentored by the lead character and now works alongside him on the trauma team. Additional returning performers comprise Yoon Kyung-ho as Han Yu-rim, a former adversary of the lead character who has transitioned into a collaborative working relationship, and Jeong Jae-kwang resuming his position as Park Gyeong-won, an anesthesiologist. Jeong Ye-in joins as a new cast addition in the role of nurse Cheon Jang-mi.
Lee Do-yun, who directed the initial season, returns to lead the new installments and will also serve as writer. The series is adapted from the webtoon “Trauma Center: Golden Hour” and is produced by Studio N and Mays Entertainment in partnership with Netflix. Both upcoming seasons will be available exclusively on the streaming platform, though release dates have not yet been announced.
