Microdrama Platform FlareFlow Sets Thailand Launch on AIS Play (EXCLUSIVE)

FlareFlow, a microdrama streaming platform owned by COL Group, announced its entry into Thailand through a partnership with AIS Play, the entertainment service subsidiary of Thai telecommunications operator Advanced Info Service. The launch is scheduled for November 2 and was facilitated by Rock Networks, a Singapore-based distributor specializing in Asian media deals.

The service will be priced at THB39 per month for AIS Play subscribers. The initial content library will feature a mix of English, Chinese, and Korean-language programming, all with Thai-language subtitles. Launch titles include the English-language series “From Janitor to Mrs Billionaire,” the Chinese series “Rise of Aurora’s Fallen General,” the Korean Boys’ Love show “My Team Leader Is Working Late Again,” and a reality competition program called “SupermodelMe: Make It or Break It” hosted by Thai television personality and model Cindy Bishop. The platform will offer content spanning romance, drama, fantasy, reality competition, and LGBTQ+ programming.

COL Group executives framed the Thai market as a strategic priority due to its creative industries and media consumption patterns. The company emphasized the affordability of the offering and highlighted plans to expose Thai audiences to international storytelling while creating opportunities for local content creators. Rock Networks will oversee the partnership’s ongoing management, including technical integration, marketing coordination, and launch execution. Lee noted that Thailand represents the initial market in an expanded Asian rollout strategy for the platform.

FlareFlow has established itself as an early player in the microdrama sector, having released over 5,000 series titles across 14 languages with approximately 50 million registered users globally. The platform is pursuing what the company describes as its “Vertical 2.0” strategy, which aims to expand beyond traditional microdrama formats through higher production quality, broader genre diversity, and emerging formats including documentaries and reality programming. Both FlareFlow and AIS indicated interest in exploring local content production and developing new mobile entertainment formats tailored to Thailand and Southeast Asia.
