Paddington: The Musical has announced an extension to its West End engagement, with the production now scheduled to run through June 25, 2028. The show, produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, StudioCanal, and Eliza Lumley Productions on behalf of Universal Music U.K., has demonstrated strong audience demand since its opening.
The musical won seven Olivier Awards earlier this year, including recognition for best new musical, best director for Luke Sheppard, best actor, best supporting actor, and best supporting actress. This achievement equaled the record for the most wins by a musical at the ceremony. The production features music and lyrics by McFly member Tom Fletcher and a book by Jessica Swale, drawing from Michael Bond’s original character and subsequent film adaptations.
Beyond London, additional productions are in development for international markets. A Broadway adaptation is scheduled to open in March 2027 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre, while a Sydney production will debut at the Capitol Theatre in September 2027. The London cast includes performers in key roles, with Sonny Monaghan providing voice and remote puppetry for Paddington, alongside on-stage performers Abbie Purvis and Hassan Taj. Supporting cast members include Marc Pickering as Mr. Curry, Charlotte Wakefield as Mrs. Brown, Haydn Oakley as Mr. Brown, Linzi Hateley as Mrs. Bird, and Cassidy Janson as Millicent Clyde, among others.
The show follows a lost bear from Peru who arrives in London and encounters the Brown family in Windsor Gardens, leading to adventures that test both the bear and his new family as they confront challenges from an antagonistic character.
