Paramount+ has agreed to a deal with Moonbug Entertainment to carry multiple children’s series across its streaming platform. The agreement grants non-exclusive rights to programming from the CoComelon and Blippi franchises, along with other Moonbug properties. The deal encompasses more than 60 hours of content spread across multiple regions including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, France, Italy and Latin America.
The initial slate of titles arriving on Nov. 1 includes Blippi Season 1, CoComelon’s JJ’s Animal Time Season 1, and Little Angel. A second wave of programming will debut on Dec. 15, introducing Blippi Season 2, CoComelon’s The Melon Patch Seasons 1 and 2, Little Baby Bum Universe, and Meekah to the platform.
Moonbug Entertainment, which operates under the Candle Media banner led by Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs, has established a strategy of distributing its brands across multiple streaming services. The Paramount+ agreement marks the first instance of Moonbug’s programming appearing on that platform. Several of Moonbug’s series are already available on competing services including Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, and Prime Video.
Nicolas Eglau, managing director for Moonbug Entertainment, characterized the partnership as a natural alignment between the two companies’ approaches to children’s content, noting that Paramount+ has developed a substantial kids and family programming offering.
