Pasto Cine has joined the production team for María Alché’s upcoming feature “I Love You and Today Everything Looks Beautiful.” The film is being produced by Brazil’s Bubbles Project alongside production companies from Spain, Germany, and France. The project marks the third collaboration between Alché and Bubbles Project, as well as the fourth partnership between Bubbles Project and Pasto Cine.
The narrative follows siblings Josefina and Jorge during the 1950s and 1960s after their parents’ death. The orphaned children are raised by their aunt Berta in an urban household populated by intellectuals and political figures. Alché developed the screenplay, which explores themes of resilience and hope during a specific period in Argentine history. The director has framed the story as relevant to contemporary Argentina, drawing parallels between the characters’ circumstances and the nation’s historical and current political landscape.
Alché previously collaborated with co-director Benjamín Naishtat on “Puan,” which received recognition at international film festivals including the San Sebastián Film Festival and earned nominations for the Goya Awards. Her earlier directorial work “A Family Submerged” won multiple festival awards across Latin America and Europe. She also co-wrote Lucrecia Martel’s feature “Nuestra tierra.”
The production team includes cinematographer Hélène Louvart, editor Livia Serpa, and sound director Laura Zimerman. The film is currently in the financing stage with production anticipated for the second half of 2027. Producers noted that much of the creative team has worked together on previous projects and shares a unified artistic vision.
