The fourth episode of Celebrity Traitors series two featured significant developments in the competition as players were eliminated through both murder and banishment. The Traitor team, consisting of Maya Jama, James Acaster, and newly recruited Professor Hannah Fry, executed Bella Ramsey overnight, viewing her as their biggest strategic threat. Ramsey’s elimination came after the Traitors debated removing one of three candidates and determined that removing her would scatter her alliance and create confusion among the remaining faithfuls.
At the roundtable discussion following Ramsey’s departure, fellow player Julie Hesmondhalgh faced intense scrutiny from her peers. Her reaction to Ramsey’s removal was perceived as suspicious by several participants, despite having been voted the most trustworthy member of the group in an earlier episode and receiving a shield for that distinction. Singer James Blunt launched a campaign against Hesmondhalgh, arguing that her apparent trustworthiness made her inherently suspicious. Ultimately, the group voted to banish Hesmondhalgh from the competition.
Fry, the latest addition to the Traitor team, also came under heightened questioning during the episode. Comedian Miranda Hart pointed out inconsistencies in Fry’s shield story from the previous night’s roundtable. Fry acknowledged the suspicion surrounding her but stated her intention to enjoy her remaining time in the competition. During the roundtable debate, Fry employed a sympathy strategy, claiming to feel vulnerable due to her reputation for intelligence making her a target.
The episode featured a charity-raising mission involving a haunted cabin experience at a graveside location. Participants engaged in various challenges including searching for specific items and completing unpleasant tasks. Sebastian Croft received a protective shield for volunteering to participate in a particularly distasteful portion of the mission. Jama effectively deflected attention from herself by amplifying existing suspicions about Hesmondhalgh among the faithfuls.
New episodes air Thursday and Friday on iPlayer, with eliminated players discussing their departures in follow-up segments.
