Islanders’ lifestyle views could help shape future

Jake WallaceChannel Islands14 June 2026A survey has been launched to gather views on what “life in Jersey is really like”, covering topics such as the cost of living and health.Statistics Jersey’s annual Opinions and Lifestyle Survey was being sent to 4,000 randomly selected households with the aim of helping to plan and deliver public services in the future, organisers said.The 2026 survey would cover various topics including voting, wellbeing and education, they added.Chief Statistician Ian Cope said the survey was an important way to hear directly from islanders about their “lives, their experiences and what matters to them”. More news stories for JerseyListen to the latest news for JerseyResults from the 2025 survey showed 1,400 people completed the questionnaire, a response rate of 35% of the more than 4,000 households selected. Cope said: “The results help shape how policies are developed and how services are planned, so it’s vital that as many people as possible take part.”If you receive an invitation, I’d strongly encourage you to complete it. It’s a simple way to make sure your voice is heard and reflected in decisions that affect the island.”I also want to reassure everyone that all responses are anonymous and protected by law.”Those selected to take part have an initial deadline of 26 June to complete the survey.
