The escalation in Black Sea hostilities comes as both nations expand their broader military operations. Russian strikes killed five additional civilians in separate attacks on eastern and southern Ukrainian cities elsewhere in the country. Ukrainian forces targeted Russian logistics facilities and energy infrastructure in the Moscow region, with local authorities reporting a significant drone assault overnight on Monday. A Ukrainian drone strike on a bus in Russia’s Belgorod region killed five people, including a child, according to Russian sources.
