The animated series “Bob’s Burgers” announced a new holiday short at San Diego Comic-Con, with the project set to arrive on Hulu and internationally on Disney+ later this year.
“On the Fort Day of Christmas” centers on the Belcher family children responding to an unusually severe Christmas snowstorm by constructing an oversized snow fort. Creator and executive producer Loren Bouchard revealed the project during the show’s panel presentation, which included voice actors H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Kristen Schaal, Eugene Mirman, and Dan Mintz, along with supervising director Bernard Derriman.
The short marks the first exclusive production created specifically for Hulu under the “Bob’s Burgers” banner. The franchise has previously released other content extensions, including the theatrical and later FX broadcast release “My Butt Has a Fever” in 2022, as well as “The Bob’s Burgers Movie,” also released in 2022.
The series itself is scheduled to return for Season 17 on Fox during the midseason window in early 2027, with episodes arriving the following day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+. “Bob’s Burgers” is produced by 20th Television Animation and developed by Jim Dauterive alongside Bouchard, with a team of executive producers including Nora Smith, Dan Fybel, Rich Rinaldi, Jon Schroeder, Steven Davis, Scott Jacobson, and others.
