The mission will mark the first time astronauts will journey to the vicinity of the moon since Apollo 17 in December 1972.A day before the rehearsal, newly confirmed NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman posted on the social media platform X that “Artemis 2 is America’s return to the moon, and the start of something much bigger.”The following mission, Artemis 3, will attempt to land astronauts on the surface of the moon. The mission is officially scheduled for 2027, but reports suggest that it will not launch until 2028 at the earliest. …
